Although ultraviolet is most commonly associated
with germicidal groundwater applications, UV technology
can be used to treat groundwater for a variety of chemicals,
ranging from chlorine to MTBE. When used alone or in
conjunction with chemical treatment, American Ultraviolet
Company UV systems are designed for the customer’s
specific application.
Most UV groundwater sterilization systems are designed
around medium-pressure lamp technology because this
UV technology produces energy across the UV spectrum
(200-700 nm). They are available with manual and automatic
cleaning systems, which are used to remove buildup on
the internal components and help maintain system efficiency.
Options include variable-output lamp technology, UV
monitoring, programmable logic controls and skid mounting.
