American Ultraviolet offers CE credits in UVCIn 2020 the world experienced a global pandemic, and the world was forced to look for ways to quickly control the transmission of microorganisms both in the air and on surfaces. Many turned to Ultraviolet technology as a safe effective solution. This course will cover the basics of UVC energy, why and how it works, the different applications (air, surfaces, and liquids), myths and truth about UVC energy, and UVC safety.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • Recall the fundamentals of UV energy and the different bands (UVA, UVB, UVC, UVV)
  • Describe how to safely and effectively apply UVC systems and equipment for air and surface disinfection and sort through many of the false claims
  • Explain how UVC energy efficiently and safely inactivates a cell and why it is effective against even drug resistant microorganisms and future microorganisms we may face
  • Express that UVC systems can be used safely for air and surface disinfection in occupied and unoccupied spaces
