What Makes American Ultraviolet Different

We've seen the UV technology market, and the world, as a whole, change substantially since 1960. Here are a few things that didn't exist when American Ultraviolet started:

  • Buffalo Wings
  • The Internet
  • The game show, "Jeopardy!"
  • Digital Cameras
  • The knowledge that smoking cigarettes is harmful to your health
  • The Beatles
  • The Ford Mustang
  • The BASIC computer language
  • The Civil Rights Act
  • Microwave Ovens
  • Cable Television
  • Plastic Grocery Bags
  • Video Games
  • Mobile Phones
  • Electric Cars
  • Social Media

Through all the changes in the world, American Ultraviolet has continued to evolve, and grown our ability to provide all our customers with the UV solutions they need – not just the solutions we have.

Our ability to offer a vast array of standard equipment, slightly modified versions of standard equipment, and completely custom equipment, that we design and fabricate in-house, makes us unique, and ensures that our customers can rely on American Ultraviolet to provide insightful solutions to improve their processes with remarkable results.

Since we've engineered and manufactured custom ultraviolet solutions for so long, and have brought so much of that process into our facilities, we have maintained our ability to offer the highest quality equipment at a fair price – even when it's a completely custom project.

American Ultraviolet History

Founded in 1960, American Ultraviolet is proud to have earned the reputation as a leading manufacturer of ultraviolet technology. American Ultraviolet is privately held, and owned by Mr. Meredith C. Stines, who has served as company president since 1980.

American Ultraviolet has grown from a 2,000 square foot facility in Chatham, New Jersey to our current 70,000 square foot headquarters in Lebanon, Indiana.

We've since acquired several other ultraviolet businesses, including:

  • Aetek® UV Systems
  • UV Source
  • Press Specialties
  • Al's Co UV

And we've opened an additional manufacturing facility in Torrance, California, and maintain local sales support offices across the nation.

Our focus has always been, and will always be, on ultraviolet technology. Our goal is to provide the highest quality UV equipment at a fair price. We maintain a full staff of engineers dedicated to UV technology, and house our own sheet metal fabrication in our Indiana manufacturing facility. This combination allows American Ultraviolet® to manufacture consistent, and always high-quality standard equipment. It also enables us to custom design and manufacture specialty equipment to our customers' exact specifications - custom equipment that takes other companies' months, and doubles or triples their selling price, takes us only weeks, and helps our customers purchase far more, for far less.
