Upper air UVC fixtures are recognized and recommended by the CDC, WHO, and ASHRAE as effective. It was manufacturing upper air UVC fixtures that American Ultraviolet started out with more than 60 years ago - safe, effective, and economical air disinfection solutions made in the U.S.A. These trusted fixtures have been successfully used to improve indoor air quality in hospitals, schools, prisons, healthcare environments, office buildings, and government buildings, just to name a few.
The CM, TB, STBF, and RAM Upper-Air series in-room air treatment fixtures are designed specifically for safe, continuous air disinfection, which helps clean the air in occupied spaces. The determination of the ideal upper air fixture for your situation is based on the square footage of the room and intended use.
The CM, TB, and STBF fixtures incorporate adjustable louvers that safely direct UVC energy above the occupied space (7 1/2 + feet). The RAM series units are fully enclosed, and tamper-proof, and use internal fans to actively draw in and recirculate the air within the space.
Benefits of all American Ultraviolet Upper Air Disinfection Solutions
- Improve Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)
- Provide an extra layer of disinfection, local to the threat, in busy high traffic occupied spaces
- Operate 24/7 with little to no maintenance
- Produce no ozone or other secondary contaminants
- Louvered units operate silently; fan assisted units operate at very low decibel levels
Examples of Upper Air Installation Solutions
CM 15 Upper-Air units are designed to be mounted in the corners of rooms where air disinfection is needed. A single CM 15 unit can cover 75-100 square feet, and, depending on the application (e.g., conference room, waiting area, break room, etc.), multiple fixtures can be used to increase the coverage area. The CM 15 unit features a 6,000-hour lamp. The CM 15 conforms to UL Std 1598 and is certified to CSA C22.2#250.0.
TB Upper-Air series units are designed to be wall mounted in occupied spaces at a minimum height of 7 ½ feet off of the floor. The TB series fixtures are available in three sizes: 150, 250 and 350 square feet of coverage. TB units are designed to operate on a 110–277-volt electrical feed, allowing installation flexibility. Multiple fixtures can be used to cover areas larger than 350 square feet. The TB Upper-Air series units feature two-year (17,000 hour) lamps, and the ballasts carry a full 10-year warranty. The TB Series conforms to UL Std 1598 and is certified to CSA C22.2#250.0.
STBF (Pendant 360°) Upper-Air Series
STBF (Pendant 360°) Upper-Air series units are designed to be suspended in occupied spaces at a minimum height of 7 1/2 feet off of the floor. STBF series fixtures provide 600-800 square feet of coverage, or 1,000-1,400 square feet per fixture, depending upon the series you choose. STBF units utilize a fan to aid with air mixing and are designed to operate on a 120 or 220-volt electrical feed, allowing installation flexibility. Multiple fixtures can be used to cover larger areas.
The RAM Upper-Air Series is a fully enclosed and tamper proof air disinfection unit designed for areas with low ceilings, or where a tamper proof fixture is needed. The RAM series features a dual lamp configuration with fans pulling the air in and through the stainless-steel housing. These fixtures are available in two lamp sizes (14" or 36"), with multiple voltage options, allowing installation flexibility. The RAM Upper-Air series units feature two-year (17,000 hour) lamps and the ballasts carry a full 10-year warranty.
