This month's product spotlight highlights the most popular mobile UVC solutions purchased by small private practices, and large hospital partners.
Having the most comprehensive line of mobile UVC "robots" has enabled American Ultraviolet to be particularly helpful to healthcare providers looking for the most appropriate UVC robot for their respective environments. According to Katja Auer, Clinical Director for Healthcare Solutions at American Ultraviolet, "Our high-performance mobile UVC fleet covers all sizes of environments, and all of them are user-friendly, rugged, and made in the U.S.A. Their non-intimidating designs have also made them true customer favorites. And, in addition, all customers love the fact that they are very, very affordable!"
Regardless of the size of the UVC mobile device that's the best fit for a specific healthcare environment, our clients can be confident that all of them have several important features in common:
MRS14 – Features four (4), 14" slimline UVC lamps. System controls are located directly on the unit, which allows utilization of a touchscreen with preprogrammed disinfection cycle times, and the option to manually set disinfection cycles times. The small, but mighty, MRS14 can be easily hung in the back of an EMS vehicle or set on top of desks in office spaces or within small clinic environments. The MRS14 is equipped with a 8-foot power cord, and weighs 20lbs. Dimensions: 25"H x 10"W x 10"D.
MRS33 - Features eight (8), 33" slimline UVC lamps optically centered around a highly polished reflector for maximum intensity. System controls are located directly on the unit, which allows utilization of a touchscreen with 3 preprogrammed disinfection cycle times, and the option to manually set disinfection cycles times. The large, high quality, locking casters provide for ease of transport and the formed stainless tube structure protects lamps, and improves the ability to handle and transport the unit. It is equipped with a 15-foot power cord and weighs 85lbs. Dimensions: 47"H x 20"W x 20"D.
MRS45 – Features twelve (12), 45" slimline UVC lamps for maximum intensity. System controls are located directly on the unit, which allows utilization of a touchscreen with 3 preprogrammed disinfection cycle times, and the option to manually set disinfection cycles times. The large, high quality, locking casters provide for ease of transport, and the formed stainless tube structure protects lamps, and improves ability to handle and transport the unit. It is equipped with a 15-foot power cord and weighs 90lbs. Dimensions: 67"H x 26"W x 26"D 7"H x 20"W x 20"D.
ARTZ 2.0 – featuring 24 UVC lamps, and designed to run continuously at maximum intensity, the ARTZ 2.0 is rapidly growing into a customer favorite for applications where microorganism inactivation speed is critical - a very quick disinfection turn-around can even be accomplished in large spaces. Time savings = cost savings. ARTZ's sophisticated and intuitive controls package features:
By using American Ultraviolet UVC Dosimeter cards, we enable all our clients to validate that sufficient UVC dosage was delivered. All environments are unique and offer various reflective surfaces; absorbing surfaces need to also be considered during device operation. What this means, in a nutshell, is that without a radiometer, or UVC Dosimeter card, placed at or near critical surfaces (e.g. high touch points) during commissioning of a device, it will be "unknown" if the target dose was actually delivered.
This very important validation step should be performed for all UVC mobile robots (not only those manufactured by American Ultraviolet) no matter what detection methods the device manufacture claims.
None of the American Ultraviolet UVC products detailed above are certified, or approved under any applicable laws, as a medical device, and as such, American Ultraviolet, and its Representatives and Distributors, do not currently intend for them to be used as medical devices anywhere globally. Products have not been evaluated by the FDA.
